wellness

Part three of our Hungary adventure took us to Melea Health Concept.

This was my first experience of combining a hotel stay with a wellness retreat so I was excited to try it.

We stayed for two nights, though it's worth noting that the hotel encourages guests to stay for a full week to truly maximize the experience. Upon arrival, we were shown to our rooms, which had stunning views over the pool and the lake. Shortly after, we headed to the medical spa for consultations with a doctor, dietician, physiotherapist, dermatologist, and nurse, and underwent a fitness test. After answering some questions and completing the tests, we were free to enjoy the spa, which is both comprehensive and absolutely gorgeous.

That evening, we had a lovely dinner followed by drinks by the fire pit. The next day, we received our personalized medical reports. The staff had thoroughly reviewed their findings, discussed each guest’s needs, and created tailored programs for the rest of our stay. Our individual plans included activities like Nordic walking, yoga, Pilates, water aerobics, facials, and massages, as well as meal plans, medical advice, and even homeopathic recommendations when needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed all of our treatments and had more time to relax in the spa that afternoon. In the evening, we took a leisurely stroll into the historic town of Sárvár.

Throughout our stay, the food was consistently delicious and beautifully presented. Each menu discreetly indicated which diet the dish aligned with, and the hotel even offers cooking classes to help you maintain your dietary recommendations once you return home. For any medical concerns, the medical team is ready to make referrals to external consultants.

The hotel itself is a serene retreat, featuring modern yet warm decor with a truly welcoming atmosphere. And I must say, the beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in!
